The report : it must be 20 pages max + appendices on the very technical points that cannot be put in the text (they might not be read by the expert, so try to avoid them) . The format has to be the format of a research article (take PRE, or PRA or PRB orAstrophysical journal templates or any major journal in your field of research) except that it must be more pedagogical than a research article. A L3 student should understand the beginning and the general context of the research. But surely the level can increase along the text.

I will need the reports (pdf files) before august 25th.
Special cases (students not doing their M2 in France should contact me to have a defense in July)

Oral defense : they will occur in the beginning of september (usually in the first 2 weeks, in parallel of M2 courses...do not forget to apply for the masters!).

If there are some restrictions about the intellectual property of your internship (if there will be patent) we can sign an Non Disclosure Agreement in order to protect your intellectual property.

And if you publish an article do not forget to mention your ENS physics department affiliation.

The rules for the defenses :

presentation 20 minutes (strict)

questions 10 to 15 minutes.

language : the one that you prefer French or English

The computer : I will have a PC (not a Mac). Standard PDF will work. If you use embedded animations it is not guaranteed to work. PPT files might have a versionning problem with my version .

If you bring your computer (best to avoid sofware problems) be sure it has a VGA connection (or an adapter in particular for Mac).
